The Dusty Knuckle is a bakery and café located in London’s Dalston and Harringay neighbourhoods. It's a purpose driven business that strives to use its busy operations to help at-risk youth take forward steps in their lives through on-the-job training and mentorship. Its goal is to help transform young people at risk of long-term criminality and/or unemployment into financially independent, happy and valuable members of society.
"The lease has allowed us to more than double our capacity for working with troubled young people and I believe that next yr as a result we will see our highest ever number of trainees (target is 75). These are high risk young people with histories of offending, abuse, neglect, unstable housing and often much worse. We provide them with hope, with skills, with a positive new self-identity and with a sense of belonging to something bigger. We are getting better at it all the time."

The Dusty Knuckle joined the HL BaSE Training programme back in in 2016 and we have since worked with them on queries around brand protection and renewing leases of their premises.
