It has been two amazing days at Ashoka's Changemaker Summit connecting with #fellows and supporters from all over Europe, including some long-standing pro bono clients of HL BaSE.
Here is some food for thought.
Advancing climate justice
The discussion with Nani Jansen Reventlow (Systemic Change), Nadia Asri (ENAR) and Alfiaz Vaiya (Equinox Initiative for Racial Justice) raised the interlinkages between climate, racial, social, and economic factors which show a disproportionate impact of the climate crisis on marginalized groups. Climate action has to be more inclusive, giving a voice and decision-making power to those who are most directly affected.
The need for ethics in tech
I loved to hear the perspectives from Anna-Lena von Hodenberg (HateAid) and Gemma Galdon Clavell (Eticas). Both social enterprises aim to establish democratic and ethical principles in the digital world. There are many challenges such as bias in AI or digital violence. Rules and values we have given ourselves in the analog are largely missing online.
Powerful narratives for change
I absolutely adore the energy and straight-talk from Solitaire Townsend (Futerra). Climate action needs to become a movement of joy! Let's show others how great, beneficial and rewarding it is.
